If you have any of the following or similar:

* Cognitive problems
* Memory problems
* Concentration problems

e.g. ADHD, dementia, brain fog from ME/CFIDS, problems resulting from a brain injury

then comment here to tell me about your experiences, the adaptations or software you use or are interested in, what it's like surfing the web, what you'd want to know about a computer or computer equipment before buying it, and anything else you think is relevant. You can write on behalf of someone you know too.

The brain fog affects everything a lot. There are some things I just can't read on a computer screen when I'm particularly unwell. Adaptations such as you've written about elsewhere such as increasing the text size are likely to help. Hm. Must think more about this... :-)

I find that the complexity of the reading material makes a huge difference, and also how well laid-out it is. It's one reason why I get so irritable about people writing poorly, for instance with multiple spelling and grammar mistakes and complete misuse of punctuation and capitals. It makes it a great deal harder for me to read. Shorter paragraphs, headings and so on really help.

Actually, the main thing I'm planning to write about is nifty software for help with organising. Quicknote is the one I use as a jotter pad, though it's by no means perfect, and Active Desktop Calendar is very handy for appointments and a to-do list. But yes, anything that makes reading material easier on the eyes helps as well.
