We're all mad here

Mishearing of the week: When I was talking about various quack therapies for ME/CFIDS to my mother, she managed to hear Mickel Reverse Therapy as Knicker Reverse Therapy. The answer to all your problems!

Mis-seeing of the week: [livejournal.com profile] ghost_of_a_flea went into the bathroom last night, where there was a brown towel draped over a stool from when I'd attacked him with dead henna. I heard a yelp. For about a quarter of a second, it apparently looked like a severed head.

Bizarre phrase of the week: "Buggery, not cannibalism!" Uttered rather loudly at gone midnight.

I'm trying to get some opinions on the marketing of a product range. Try House of Mistry, another site of theirs, and a distributor who has photos of the products and ingredients lists. Look at the hair products in particular. Could you tell me your impressions of the site and the products, whether you'd buy from them, anything else you want to mention? If you're going to write a lot, I've got visual problems so I'd appreciate it if you could break it down into manageable paragraphs and do friendly formatting things (headings in bold, that sort of thing) if need be. If you've got any questions, I do know a certain amount about these products and may be able to answer some of them. I'm not trying to sell them to you, by the way! Give me your unalloyed first impressions and then I'll explain.

[livejournal.com profile] elfbystarlight has just been up here for a visit, which involved lots of henna and was concluded by a shameless photo shoot in the Meadows. Here are a couple of picture. I'm not actually blonde, my hair's a medium brown with a fair amount of gold in it, nor do I have roots and ends, it's all the light. Her hair is not only fabulous, it's two and a half inches longer than mine, which I would get most competitive about were I not deeply in love with her hair and unable to insult it in such a fashion.

Whaddya mean, we look like sisters? )

Hair length = 40" at last, though I plan to have about 1/2" off in the near future.

This is just a reminder that the real-time reading of Dangerous Liaisons begins today, so may I wave anyone temptable over to [livejournal.com profile] epistolarynovel. Today's stint is only two pages long.

Hair update: somewhere between 39 1/2 " and 39 3/4". I decided to get my next trim when it gets to 40", so that'll probably be at the end of the month.

Hair length = 38 3/4".

I'm improving from the latest relapse with gratifying speed, which I suspect is down to my new lightbox. I'm now considering going to my cousin's wedding in Jersusalem, which is in mid-July. This would mean stopping over in London on the way, which in one sense is a hassle, but is good in another as I get to see family and friends.

Come on hair, you can do better than this. You've been almost mid-thigh length in the past.

In other news, the uni finally decided that I am getting a distinction to go with my rather pathetic degree. Due to having completed only three years when the standard undergrad here is four, and despite one of those years being Honours, I am gettin an MA (Gen), unclassified though with a nice distinction, where any English university would have given me a first-class BA (Hons). Ah well. What I can't figure out is why it took them so long to figure it out, since every single mark I got for my Honours year was a First. As long as it gets me into the OU postgrad programme, I'm beyond caring by now. I'm contemplating whether or not to attend the graduation ceremony. Current thinking is Not.
