elettaria: (Banana leaf)

We're discussing logo designs for my Jewish Community, and I came up with this one. It's only done roughly, I'm dreadful at drawing with a mouse and I pinched the dove off the internet (Google Image, great stuff). Opinions, anyone? Our name, Sukkat Shalom, means "shelter of peace". Doves are traditional for peace, and the tree refers to the whole tree of life business, very traditional in Judaism. It's vaguely based on a design I did a few years ago, when I painted a plate for my parents' first wedding anniversary (parents in the sense of mother and step-dad). For that one, I did a tree inspired by William Morris (oranges and flowers), two lovebirds in the tree (actually, doves, but those two are known as the lovebirds so it had to be done), and their names in English and Hebrew on either side of the trunk.

Opinions, people? Anyone have general design ideas for logos, while we're at it? I've been looking at other communities' ones, linked from the Liberal Judaism website, to get ideas.
