To dye for

I have some corduroy trousers I bought from Marks and Sparks the other year. I've never been that keen on the colour, which is a rather dull taupe, somewhere between this and this in shade. So I'm looking at the Dylon dyes, trying to work out which colours would work the best. I've got it narrowed down to rosewood red, burlesque red or intense violet. Any thoughts on how those would turn out? A nice deep rusty red would be my preference, I just don't know if that's what I'd actually get, and failing that I think angling for dark purple or plum is fairly safe. (I already have cords in dark brown and dark olive green.) What sort of colours do you think will be produced with those dyes?
