Interesting article titles
Saturday, 28 August 2004 12:41 amI'll cross-post this around and about, I want to make it as full a list as possible.
It all started when my attention wandered during a class on The Taming of the Shrew. I started leafing through the bibliography, and suddenly this title leapt to my eye:
"Bestial Buggery in A Midsummer Night's Dream"
I promptly burst out laughing, of course. Five minutes later, in the middle of a very serious discussion on scold's bridles, I envisaged walking into the library and demanding this article in ringing tones, and cracked up again.
After much deeply academic discussion, most of which is in a friends-locked post in
eye_of_a_cat's journal, I have decided to start a list of various ridiculous article and book titles. Please suggest others and I will add them to the main post; we could even vote on the best ones. I want to create a real resource here. You may want to begin your journey at The Provokies. (My best friend, alarmingly, somehow misread "cat" for "girl" in the first named article.)
